About Me
Barry Cruvant
Thanks for taking time to learn more about me. I have a passion for leading in technical settings and have spent my career gaining leadership experiences alongside highly trained personnel on critical systems and missions. My vision is to lead a company that makes a real difference in the world serving its customers.
I was born and raised in Las Vegas and attended the University of Southern California on a Navy scholarship to study biomedical engineering. It was there that I met my wife, Marygail — we’ve now been together for over ten years. Marygail is a consultant who helps technology-enabled companies navigate ownership transitions, execute strategic initiatives, and create long-term value. Though our careers have taken us across the country, we’re grateful to have family and friends from coast to coast.
After college, I was commissioned as a nuclear submarine officer in the U.S. Navy, completing missions in both the Pacific and Atlantic aboard the U.S.S. Pasadena. I directed ship operations during high-stakes missions and casualty responses, oversaw certifications for underwater operations, and later became the senior officer responsible for reviewing maintenance on all nuclear, propulsion, and life-support systems. I also qualified as a scuba diver and served as our crew’s sole diving officer.
These experiences culminated in my certification as a nuclear engineer by the Department of Energy and an early promotion to lead seasoned nuclear operators — both military and civilian — tasked with refueling and upgrading a land-based reactor.
I’m deeply proud of my time in the Navy and the lessons it taught me in humility, teamwork, and perseverance. None of my accomplishments would have been possible without the dedication of the teammates I was honored to serve alongside. That same spirit of camaraderie and shared purpose continues to guide how I lead teams today.
After leaving active duty, I earned my M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where I focused on finance to complement my leadership and operational background. While there, I worked with Citi’s advisory practice serving industrial clients, chaired a conference with over 450 aspiring entrepreneurs, and spent much of my free time helping fellow veterans transition into civilian careers.
